Quantum ActiveScale P200 is a scalable, high-performance object storage system designed for managing massive volumes of unstructured data across both “active” and “cold” data classes. It is built on the same ActiveScale architecture that supports extremely high durability, availability, and consistent performance from terabytes to exabytes. The P200 converged architecture integrates compute and storage functions into each node, allowing seamless growth and modular expansion as data demands increase.
The system is ideal for workloads such as AI/ML pipelines, analytics, content repositories, backup/archival, and multi-site data replication. It supports S3-compatible APIs for easy integration with modern applications, and offers advanced features such as erasure coding, dynamic data placement, versioning, and geo-spreading for resilient data protection.
| Component | Specification / Detail |
| Minimum System Configuration | 1 base node + 2 expansion nodes (total 3 nodes) |
| Drive Bays (per node) | 12 × 3.5" SAS/SATA (for high-capacity HDDs) + 4 × 2.5" 7 mm bays for NVMe / SATA |
| Networking Ports (per node) | 4 × 25 GbE SFP28 ports (2 for internal node-to-node traffic, 2 for external client/public traffic) |
| Power & Redundancy | Redundant power supplies per node |
| Site Requirements | Adequate rack space front/rear, grounding, cable routing, service clearance (e.g. front 48 in, rear 22 in) |
| Compliance & Safety Certifications | FCC Class A, EN 55032 Class A, EMC / Immunity standards, CE marking, UL/CSA safety compliance |
| Raw Capacity Options | E.g. with 12 × 24 TB HDDs per node yields 288 TB raw per node (depending on configuration) |
| Expansion Behavior | New nodes typically must be equal to or greater in count than existing nodes for expansion steps |
| Switch / Network Requirements | Use non-blocking L3 switches, support for VLAN tagging, inter-switch links (40/100 GbE or 10/25 GbE) for scale-out / HA topology |
