Overview
The Quantum DXi480 / DXi4800 is a disk-based backup appliance designed for small-to-mid-sized organizations or remote/branch sites that need efficient, scalable, and secure backup and replication capabilities. It leverages advanced deduplication and replication technology to compress and manage backup data, enabling extended retention on disk while minimizing storage and bandwidth costs.
With its Capacity-On-Demand (CoD) scalability, the system can start at modest capacity and grow to hundreds of terabytes as requirements expand. It supports multi-protocol access (NAS, VTL, OST) and integrates with leading backup software for flexible deployment. The DXi4800 also offers secure replication between sites, immutable snapshots, and optional encryption to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access or tampering.
