Quantum DXi9000 / DXi9100

Brand: Quantum
Availability: In Stock
  • Overview

The Quantum DXi9000 / DXi9100 series are high-end, enterprise-class disk backup and data deduplication appliances—designed for organizations that require scalable, secure, and efficient backup, replication, and disaster recovery capabilities. These appliances combine deduplication, compression, replication, and flexible protocol support to optimize storage use, accelerate backup/restore operations, and guard against threats such as ransomware.

The DXi9000 is known for its density, modular scaling, and robust performance. The DXi9100 is essentially an extended-capacity variant of the DXi9000 family, offering higher memory and scale options, while maintaining compatibility with the same software architecture and feature set. These models support capacity-on-demand licensing, enabling initial deployment at modest capacity and future growth without forklift upgrades.

These appliances integrate with leading backup and data protection ecosystems and support secure replication, immutable snapshots, and multi-protocol access (NAS, VTL, OST, etc.). They are suitable for large enterprises, service providers, and data-intensive environments where reliability, efficiency, and security are paramount.

    Key Features

    • Variable-length inline deduplication & compression — Maximizes data reduction across the appliance, lowering storage footprint and reducing replication traffic.
    • All-inclusive software license model — Core capabilities (deduplication, replication, protocol support, snapshots) are bundled, avoiding hidden licensing costs.
    • Scalable capacity via capacity-on-demand — Usable capacity can grow in increments (e.g. 51 TB steps) up to licensed limits; supports adding expansion modules and enabling unused hardware via licenses.
    • High density & efficient form factor — The design balances performance, capacity, and rack-space efficiency, helping reduce power, cooling, and floor space.
    • Robust replication & disaster recovery — Supports asynchronous DXi-to-DXi replication, enabling offsite copy protection and disaster recovery workflows.
    • Immutable snapshots & security controls — Supports offline immutable snapshots plus encryption (data at rest and in transit), role-based access, and secure operations.
    • Advanced node configuration options — Offers standard and extended CPU/memory configurations, enabling support for demanding workloads and large capacity configurations.
    • Multiprotocol connectivity — Supports NAS (NFS / CIFS), VTL emulation, OST / backup-application APIs, and mixed protocol environments.
    • Modular and non-disruptive expansion — Hardware and capacity upgrades can be added without system downtime, allowing seamless growth.
    • Monitoring, alerting & analytics — Integrated system health monitoring, performance statistics, and anomaly detection help maintain reliability and performance.
