Quantum F-Series (F2200)

Brand: Quantum
Availability: In Stock
  • Overview

The Quantum F-Series (F2200) is a high-performance, enterprise-grade NVMe storage appliance, purpose-built for demanding unstructured-data workflows such as media production, post-production, visual effects, render farms, large scale analytics, and collaborative high-resolution editing. With its dual-controller, active/active architecture and full NVMe flash drive design, it eliminates traditional storage bottlenecks and supports ultra-high throughput, low latency operations. The system delivers throughput up to approximately 90 GB/s in multi-client read scenarios and supports raw capacities up to ~737 TB in a single 2-rack-unit chassis. It is designed for shared-storage environments and integrates seamlessly into scalable file-system infrastructures.

    Features

    • Ultra-high throughput NVMe architecture optimized for video, image and large-file workflows.
    • Dual redundant active/active controllers with no single point of failure for high availability and continuous operations.
    • Full NVMe flash drive bay (24 drives in full configuration) providing high IOPS, low latency and massive parallel processing.
    • Flexible front-end connectivity supporting either 100 GbE or 32-Gb Fibre Channel interfaces (depending on model) to match SAN or Ethernet infrastructures.
    • Compact 2U form-factor delivering large raw capacity and high performance in a small rack footprint, reducing data-centre space, power and cooling costs.
    • Seamless integration into large-scale shared-storage clusters, enabling workflows with many users, high resolution assets and intense data streams.
    • Designed for media & entertainment, research, AI/ML pipelines, VFX, collaborative editing and other mission-critical unstructured-data use cases.

    Specifications

    System & Architecture

    • Form factor: 2U rack-mounted chassis.
    • Controllers: Dual hot-swappable active/active controllers.
    • Drives: Up to 24 dual-ported NVMe SSDs in full-configuration; half-populate option available.
    • Raw capacity options: ~92 TB, ~184 TB, ~368 TB, up to ~737 TB.
    • Front-end connectivity options: Ethernet model: 4 ports of 100 GbE (8 total in system) ; Fibre Channel model: 8 ports of 32 Gb FC (16 total in system).
    • Memory: Each controller includes significant RAM to support NVMe performance (e.g., 256 GB per controller).
    • Power/availability: Dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies (2000 W each in typical configuration), enterprise-grade.
    • Operating environment: Typical temperature range ~10 °C to 35 °C; non-operating down to -40 °C, etc.
      Drive & Storage Configuration Example
    • With 24 x 30.72 TB NVMe SSDs the raw system capacity reaches ~737 TB; usable capacity will depend on RAID namespace and overhead.
    • RAID configuration: Default uses high-performance NVMe namespaces (e.g., RAID6 across drives) and is tuned for sequential streaming throughput rather than just small random I/O.
      Physical / Environmental & Serviceability
    • Dimensions: Height ~88 mm (3.45″), Width ~446 mm, Depth ~836 mm.
    • Weight: Approx. 39.1 kg (net) for typical full assembly.
    • Serviceability: Hot-swappable drive modules, controllers and power supplies. Rack mounting with rails and service access.
      Workflow & Software Support
    • Ideal for shared-file systems requiring ultra-high throughput, many simultaneous clients and large unstructured-data pools.
    • Designed to integrate into file-system clusters and shared-storage environments for media workflows, high-resolution editing, render farms and AI/ML processing.
    • Supports both Fibre Channel SAN and Ethernet-based access depending on the deployed model, enabling deployment flexibility.
